A new keyboard appears: G915 TKL (and the MX Vertical mouse too)
I'm very lucky and am able to work from home during these times. One extra benefit that we got was an allowance to spend on equipment for use at home. I wasn't sure if I wanted a new monitor (which I'm starting to consider more now that one of my monitors is starting to show signs of problems...) but found a keyboard that interested me – the Logitech G915 TKL.
At first glance, wow – there used to be a time where I would've thought that spending about $229 for a keyboard was crazy... and that's still true today. I know my Anne Pro 2 retails for about $100 and with extra keycaps, and that's just beginning. I've been following the r/mechanicalkeyboards subreddit from time to time too and yeah, keyboards can get very pricey. But hey, we get a budget, so why not?
This thing is pretty. We'll see how well it ages the more I use it. I'm really digging the USB dongle/BT switch though, and there hasn't been any issues with keys repeating yet either (which was starting to happen with my Anne Pro 2, albeit over Bluetooth). The battery life is pretty good and recharges really fast. And the color customization is really nice. But the most important feature that I use is probably the media controls. It's really nice to have dedicated keys for play/pause, as well as the volume knob – true innovation right there.
As for the mouse, I went and picked up the MX Vertical while I was browsing around. From time to time I've had my wrist start to hurt after typing for long periods of time, so I figured I'd upgrade my ergonomic mouse selection while I'm at it.
