Figure Dump: Phicen

figures May 24, 2021

Okay, these Phicens are something I'd probably consider more of a doll than a figure. First and foremost, yeah, they use actual clothing (material wise) instead of hard plastic. These are two figures that I happened to purchase while browsing around Amazon, and they're rather interesting. Similar to Figmas, they are fully articulated dolls, meaning that you can pose them by rotating one of many joints.

Unfortunately, there is a caveat with that, and you can probably see that with the 2B-styled one, that the silicone material does crack if they're left in a stressed pose on display for too long.

Something I didn't really know going forwards buying these is that mini doll clothes are ridiculously expensive. I suppose I get this is a rather niche market, but stuff like shoes and boots can easily cost around $10+, which depending on what you buy can easily cost as much as an actual pair of shoes. The clothes themselves can cost quite a bit too. The hoodie/shorts combo costs about $30, and the cheongsam that I got for my faux-2B was around $20.

In case you're wondering, yes they do sell actual kits that looks more like 2B, but they can sell for $200 or so. To be honest, the base figures themselves aren't that cheap either, costing around $80-100 for the body and upwards of $40 for some head sculpts.

I'm keeping this gallery as safe as possible, so I've omitted some angles, but you can probably guess where I skipped out on.
